Lawn Care & Landscaping in Pensacola, FL
Emerald Solutions is based in the 32503 part of Pensacola, between Cordova Park and Scenic Heights, so most of the city is a short drive and a lot of it is on the way somewhere else.

Weekly and biweekly lawn care routes run through the neighborhoods around the home base first, and projects go anywhere in town.
Pensacola yards are mostly centipede, with St. Augustine in the shadier lots and bahia on the bigger ones out toward Ferry Pass. Centipede likes to be cut high and left alone, St. Augustine hates being scalped, and both go brown fast when a dry spell hits sandy soil. Knowing which one you have is half of keeping it green, and it is the first thing Jake checks when he walks a yard.
The mid-century ranch neighborhoods in the middle of the city, Cordova Park, Scenic Heights and the streets around Bayou Texar, come with big live oaks and the leaf drop and shade that go with them. That is where leaf cleanups, mulch refreshes and shade-tolerant sod earn their keep. Closer in, the East Hill and North Hill bungalows sit on smaller lots with older concrete walks and driveways that hold algae after a wet summer, which is pressure washing work.
Water in Pensacola comes from ECUA, the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority. Their irrigation rules follow the Northwest Florida Water Management District schedule, so if you run sprinklers, ask and Jake will tell you what he sees in your yard rather than guess. Permits for a paver patio or a low retaining wall in unincorporated Escambia County go through Building Services on West Park Place, and inside the city limits through the City of Pensacola. Most at-grade patios do not need one; a wall over about four feet does. Jake tells you which before you commit.
Pensacola questions, answered straight
Which parts of Pensacola do you cover on a weekly route?
Everything inside the city and the close-in county neighborhoods: Cordova Park, Scenic Heights, East Hill, North Hill, East Pensacola Heights, Ferry Pass, Brent, Warrington and Myrtle Grove. If you are within about fifteen miles of 32503, you are on the route.
My yard is centipede and looks thin. Can you fix it?
Usually. Centipede thins out when it is cut too short, fed too much nitrogen, or shaded by oaks that have grown since the lawn went in. Jake will tell you which one it is. Sometimes the fix is a mowing height and a season of patience; sometimes it is new sod in the shaded strip.
Do I need a permit for a paver patio in Pensacola?
For a patio laid flat on the ground, usually not, but setbacks still apply and some HOAs want to see a plan. Retaining walls over about four feet, and anything raised more than thirty inches, need a permit. We check with Escambia County Building Services or the City before quoting so there are no surprises.
How often should a Pensacola driveway be pressure washed?
With close to seventy inches of rain a year and summer humidity in the seventies, concrete on the shady side of a house greens up within a year or two. Once a year keeps most driveways clean; a north-facing drive under oaks may want it sooner.
Do you take on commercial properties in Pensacola?
Yes, and we are actively looking for more. Small office parks, storefronts, churches, rentals and HOA common areas. Downtown storefronts have their own page.
